Amritsar Police Bust Cross-Border Arms and Drug Smuggling Module, Arrest 5

Amritsar: Amritsar Commissionerate Police have dismantled a cross-border arms and narcotics smuggling module in an intelligence-led operation under #GangstraanTevaar. Five accused have been arrested, and a large cache of weapons, drugs, and cash has been seized.

Major Seizure of Weapons and Drugs

Police recovered six sophisticated pistols, 10 live cartridges, 115 grams of heroin, and ₹11.9 lakh suspected drug money from the operation. The recovered items suggest a well-organised smuggling network.

Accused Linked to Cross-Border Smuggling Network

Preliminary investigation indicates that the arrested accused were actively involved in a cross-border smuggling network. They are suspected to be part of an illegal arms and drug trafficking chain operating across the border.

An FIR has been registered at PS Cantonment, Amritsar, under the Arms Act and NDPS Act. Police are investigating the case further to trace the forward and backward linkages of the module.
