Amritsar Police Bust 3 Drug, Arms Networks; 5 Held, 13 Pistols and 3.267 Kg Heroin Recovered

Amritsar: The Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled three alleged drug trafficking and illegal arms supply networks, arresting five accused and recovering 13 pistols, 3.267 kg of heroin and 22 live cartridges, police said.

According to the preliminary investigation, the arrested accused were allegedly involved in the supply of illegal weapons and narcotics.

FIRs Registered in Two Police Stations

Separate FIRs have been registered at D-Division Police Station and Chheharta Police Station in Amritsar. Police said further investigation is underway to establish the complete network behind the alleged operations.

Probe Underway to Trace Foreign Handlers

Investigators are working to identify the backward and forward linkages of the networks and locate other people allegedly involved in the illegal activities, including foreign-based handlers, police said.

The Punjab Police said it remains committed to taking action against drug trafficking and illegal arms networks and working towards making Punjab a safe and drug-free state.
