Amritsar Police Bust Cross-Border Narcotics Network; 7.63 kg Heroin Seized

Amritsar: In a major breakthrough, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled a cross-border narcotics-smuggling network, arresting two operatives and recovering a huge consignment of 7 kg 630 grams of heroin along with ₹21,800 drug money.

Arrests Made, FIR Registered Under NDPS Act

The accused were apprehended during a targeted operation, and an FIR has been registered at PS Chheharta, Amritsar under the NDPS Act. The police have launched a detailed investigation to uncover the network’s complete structure and linkages.

Dubai-Based Handler Orchestrated Cross-Border Supply

Preliminary probe indicates that the accused were in direct contact with a Dubai-based handler, using virtual numbers to coordinate heroin consignments. The handler also allegedly directed pickup locations and supply chains across regions.

Handler Linked to Major NDPS Case

Police sources revealed that the Dubai-based handler is connected to multiple narcotics networks and a major NDPS case involving the recovery of 43 kg heroin.

Further Investigation Underway

Authorities are tracing forward and backward linkages of the network to identify all key operatives and supply channels. Further arrests are expected as the investigation progresses.
