Amritsar Police Bust 6 Illegal Arms Supply Networks, Arrest 8; 13 Pistols Recovered

Amritsar: Commissionerate Police has dismantled six illegal arms supply networks in a major crackdown, arresting eight accused and recovering 13 illegal pistols along with 23 live cartridges.

According to Punjab Police, a preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused were allegedly connected with smugglers based abroad. They were reportedly procuring illegal weapons for further distribution and use in criminal activities.

Police Trace Wider Arms Supply Network

During the investigation, police also established links between the arrested accused and other associates allegedly involved in the illegal arms supply network.

Separate FIRs have been registered at Police Station Chheharta, Gate Hakima, Sultanwind and D-Division in Amritsar.

Investigation Underway

Police said further investigation is underway to trace the complete backward and forward linkages of the network. Authorities are also working to identify other individuals involved and dismantle the wider illegal arms trafficking network.

Punjab Police said it remains committed to maintaining strict vigilance against illegal arms trafficking and organised criminal networks and taking firm action against those involved in the illegal supply and circulation of weapons.
