    Amritsar Police busts international drug racket, seizes 14 kg of drugs

    Amritsar: Punjab Police has achieved a major success against drug trafficking. Amritsar Commissionerate Police has busted an international drug trafficking network and arrested two accused. Police recovered 10 kg of ICE (methamphetamine) and 4 kg of heroin from them.

    Network operated from Dubai and Abu Dhabi

    According to Punjab Police, investigations have revealed that the accused were in contact with a major drug smuggler based abroad. This network was being operated from Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The accused were supplying narcotics in Punjab and Delhi.

    Training in smuggling was given in Dubai

    Police investigations have revealed that one of the arrested accused had recently returned from Dubai. There, he was trained in drug smuggling and was assigned the responsibility of supplying heroin and ICE.

    The network was spread across the Majha-Doaba region

    According to the police, this gang was supplying drugs in the Majha and Doaba regions of Punjab. The accused are currently being interrogated and a search is underway for others connected to the network. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at the Chheharta police station.
