Amritsar Police busts cross-border arms smuggling gang, 4 arrested

Amritsar, August 7: In a swift and intelligence-based operation, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police has arrested 4 suspects in a cross-border arms smuggling case. Police have recovered 7 pistols from them, including PX5 9mm, Glock 9mm and .30 bore weapons.

It has been learnt that the arrested accused were in touch with Pakistan-based arms smugglers and were receiving illegal arms consignments from them near the Indo-Pak border. The gang was operating from border villages and was supplying arms to gangsters in Punjab.

An FIR has been registered under the Arms Act at Chheharta police station in this case. An investigation is underway by the police, which will expose the entire network and its contacts.
