Amritsar Police special search operation; Mobile Check points at shopping mall-railway station

Amritsar Rural Police conducted a special checking campaign in the district as part of the Punjab government’s anti-gangsters campaign. The primary objective of this campaign is to instill confidence in the public and crack down on gangsters and criminal elements. SSP Sohail Mir stated that three major special checking campaigns were conducted.

According to SSP Sohail Mir, public places, shopping malls, major roadways, railway stations, and public transport were specifically targeted during the checking. Police set up checkpoints, thoroughly searched vehicles, checked licenses, and questioned suspicious individuals. Buses and other government and private transport are also being thoroughly checked.

This campaign is part of the previously conducted Operations Prahar-1 and Prahar-2. In these previous operations, Amritsar Rural Police achieved major successes, arresting numerous criminals and seizing large quantities of drugs and illegal goods.

SSP said: Mobile checkpoints were set up

The SSP stated that the police constantly receive intelligence inputs, but due to security reasons, all information cannot be released publicly. Mobile checkpoints have been set up for this campaign, which are moved from one location to another. The aim is to ensure swift action and deny criminals any opportunity.

SSP Sohail Mir clarified that this checking campaign will not be limited to a few hours, but will continue continuously. The police’s message is clear to the public, the police are present on the streets to ensure their safety, and to criminals that gangsterism will not be tolerated at any cost.

He assured that the Amritsar Rural Police will achieve further successes in this campaign in the future.
