Pregnant Woman Found Hanging in Amritsar Home

Amritsar, April 22: A case of suicide by hanging involving a pregnant woman has come to light in Gujjapir village, located in the Ajnala area of ​​Amritsar district. Following the incident, the police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the matter. Kajal had been married to Lovepreet, a resident of Gujjapir, for eight years. During this time, the couple had already had three children. Early this morning, the woman committed suicide by hanging herself.

In connection with this incident, the deceased woman’s husband, Lovepreet stated that during the night, Kajal had woken up once to use the bathroom. Subsequently, she got up again and left the room. Some time later, it was discovered that Kajal had committed suicide by hanging herself with a ‘chunni’ (scarf) in an adjacent room.

Husband Works as a Daily Wage Laborer

It is reported that the deceased woman’s husband works as a daily wage labourer. He stated that he has absolutely no idea why Kajal took such an extreme step. He also confirmed that they have three children.

Body Taken into Custody and Sent for Post-mortem

Sub-Inspector Harjit Singh Sandhu of the Ajnala Police Station arrived at the scene with his team, took custody of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case and have commenced their investigation.

Search for Motive Continues

Based on preliminary investigations, the incident appears to be a case of suicide; however, the police are conducting a thorough inquiry while considering all possible angles. Officials state that the true reasons behind the incident will only be revealed after the investigation has been completed.
