    Yudh Nashian Virudh: Amritsar Police demolishes drug smuggler Sunny’s illegal Homes

    Amritsar, July 10: Today, on Thursday, under the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign in Amritsar, Punjab, the district administration and municipal corporation team bulldozed the house of drug smuggler Saurabh Pratap alias Sunny. This action was taken as per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. In which a strategy is being adopted to build pressure on drug smugglers by demolishing illegally built properties.

    Sunny, a resident of Chheharta, has around 25 cases registered against him under the NDPS Act, Arms Act and various criminal sections across Punjab. He is currently absconding and has been declared a proclaimed offender by the police.

    Sunny’s daughter, Muskan and brother Aditya Pratap were arrested under a case registered in the Islamabad police station. The police recovered 6 kg of opium, 8 kg of heroin, 2 kg heroin heroin-making chemical, a 9 mm pistol and a live cartridge from their possession.

    Two properties were demolished

    The house of Sunny, which was demolished in today’s action, was built illegally without the permission of the Municipal Corporation. Apart from this, Sunny has another property in Gali No. 02, Akash Avenue, Kot Khalsa police station area, which was registered in the name of his wife Seetal Pratap, which has also been demolished considering it an illegal construction. It has been reported that till now, more than 9 properties of drug smugglers have been demolished in Amritsar city.

    Action taken under the supervision of the Police Commissioner

    During the operation, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar himself reached the spot. He said that there will be no mercy for those who are poisoning society and especially the lives of the youth with drugs. The police is taking strict action against such elements and whoever is involved in this business is being sent directly to jail. Along with this, the police is also taking the responsibility of treating the victims of drug addiction.

    The Police Commissioner appealed to the people to give information about such drug smugglers to the police, their names will be kept completely confidential and the administration will take such action that the future generations will also remember it.
