Bomb Threats to Multiple Amritsar Schools Trigger Panic; Police Launch Probe

Amritsar: Many major private schools in Punjab’s Amritsar received bomb threats, causing panic. The threat was sent to the school management through email, due to which the school immediately informed the Amritsar police.

Children were immediately sent home, and school vans lined up

On receiving information about the threats, schools sent messages to parents, appealing them to take their children home immediately. All vans and private vehicles reached outside the schools, due to which a sudden holiday was declared.

The sudden holiday spread panic among the students, who wanted to reach home as soon as possible.

Police are sealing the school premises, bomb squad and fire brigade are on the spot

Teams of Amritsar police reached the spot and sealed the area around the schools. The bomb squad, fire brigade and dog squad were also called, and a thorough search of every part of the school is being carried out.
No one is allowed inside the school premises, and classrooms are being searched.

Cyber ​​cell investigating email

The identity of the person or organisation making the threat has not yet been established. The email has been forwarded to the cyber cell, which is investigating its source. Police said a conclusion will be reached only after investigation.

Police statement – “No need to panic, mischief is also possible”

The first official statement has been issued by the Amritsar Commissionerate Police. Police said that several schools in the city and rural areas have received suspicious emails.
