Punjab Police Nab 3 Shooters in Amritsar; Gang Behind Ransom Firing and Petrol Pump Robbery Exposed

Amritsar police have arrested three shooters of an organised gang involved in several incidents of extortion and firing. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar informed about this success in a press conference. He said that this gang was carrying out criminal activities in different districts of Punjab at the behest of handlers sitting abroad.

Notorious gangster Ghanshampuria network revealed

The arrested accused have been identified as Gurdev Singh, Jashanpreet Singh and Harprasdeep Singh. Preliminary investigations have revealed that these three notorious gangsters were associated with the Ghanshampuria network and were working on the instructions of two handlers sitting abroad. This gang used to intimidate traders and common people in an organized manner and extort ransom from them.

According to the police, the accused used to call and demand money from traders and other people over the phone. When a person refused to pay money, these shooters would create an atmosphere of panic by firing outside his house or business establishment. After this, the ransom was demanded by threatening again. In this way, this gang used to extort money by spreading fear among the people.

A pistol was recovered during the arrest, forensic investigation is underway.

During the arrest, the police have also recovered a pistol from the accused. The weapon has been sent for forensic examination to ascertain in which incidents it has been used.

The police commissioner said that the in-depth interrogation of the accused is going on and more big revelations may come in the coming days. At the same time, continuous raids are being conducted to arrest the rest of the gang members. The police have assured that no criminal who disturbs law and order in Punjab will be spared and strict action will be taken against such gang activities.
