Annual DGP-IGP conference in Jaipur; PM Modi, Shah and Ajit Doval likely to attend

Jaipur: The Annual DGP-IGP conference will be held from January 5 to January 7 here in Jaipur. It is also expected that the conference will be attended by dignitaries like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah. Along with them, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will also participate in the conference.

The DGP conference will be attended by the Director General of Police of all states and police officers of Union Territories, including IG rank. Terrorist threat in Jammu and Kashmir, cyber fraud and activities of pro-Khalistani groups, and other major issues are likely to be discussed in the three-day conference of Director Generals of Police and Inspectors General of Police starting from January 5 in Jaipur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with top police officers in the country before addressing a formal session. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be present at the entire conference. It will be organized in several sessions.

If sources are to be believed, the Union Home Ministry, implementation of the three recently enacted criminal laws, Maoist problem, inter-state police coordination, and issues arising during the general elections are some of the other major topics that are expected to be discussed during the meeting.

Around 250 officers of the rank of DGP and IGP will participate in the conference physically while more than 200 officers are likely to participate through video conference.

The official said several officers have been assigned the task of giving presentations on specific topics like counter-terrorism, online fraud, cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, activities of pro-Khalistan groups, and left-wing extremism. There will be detailed discussions on how to address all these emerging internal security challenges
