Amritsar: Anurag Dhanda has targeted the central government over the diesel price hike. The Aam Aadmi Party’s national media in-charge said that the Modi government increased diesel prices by ₹3 just before the start of the paddy planting season.
He said that in an agricultural state like Punjab, the increase in diesel prices will directly impact farmers and farming costs.

Accuses BJP of anti-Punjab mindset
Anurag Dhanda said that this decision once again proves the BJP’s anti-Punjab mindset. According to him, the rising diesel prices during the farming season will put an additional financial burden on farmers.
He also claimed that petrol and diesel prices could now be increased almost daily, further exacerbating the hardships of the common people.
Bengal elections also mentioned
The AAP leader questioned why the people of Punjab were not given relief if oil prices could be frozen during the West Bengal elections. He accused the central government of making decisions based on political gains.
Concerns about the impact on farmers and the general public
Anurag Dhanda said that the impact of the diesel price hike will not be limited to farmers, but will also be felt in transport, markets, and the prices of daily necessities. He demanded the central government reconsider the increased prices of petrol and diesel.
