Kolkata: Arjun Singh, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in the Bhatpara area of West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, alleged that shots were fired, crude bombs were thrown, and a car was vandalized outside his home late Tuesday night. Last night, some jehadis entered a Durga Puja pandel and started kicking here and there, creating a ruckus.

The BJP leader said, “I was watching TV when suddenly I heard commotion outside. Bombs were thrown and shots were fired. I have a video of it. When I went outside, everyone had left.”
Former MP Arjun Singh also claimed that the police were fleeing the scene during the attack. He said, “The condition of these poor policemen is very bad. If there had been a retaliatory attack, anyone could have lost their lives. This was a completely pre-planned attack.” He also shared alleged CCTV footage of the incident.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA from Jagdal, Somnath Shyam, rejected these allegations and claimed that Arjun Singh himself was responsible for the violence in the area.
