Arms Smuggling Module Busted in Jalandhar: 3 Arrested; Pistols and Cartridges Recovered

In a major breakthrough, Jalandhar Police Commissionerate busted an illegal arms smuggling module. Police also arrested three accused and recovered 5 pistols (.32 bore), 9 magazines, and 22 live cartridges during a special drive.

The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav through a post on X.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the busted module was involved in illegal arms smuggling within Punjab.

Acting on leads developed after the initial arrest near Bus Stand Jalandhar, police teams recover four more pistols, eight magazines, and 18 live cartridges concealed near Village Bhaini Paswal in Gurdaspur district.

Further investigation is underway to establish both backward and forward linkages and completely dismantle the entire illegal arms network.

DGP Yadav assured that Punjab Police remains steadfast in its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against illegal arms trafficking and maintaining peace and order in the state.
