New Delhi: Security agencies were alerted after Army Public School reportedly received a bomb threat via email on Monday. Authorities immediately evacuated students and staff, and a thorough search operation was launched as a precaution.
Delhi Police, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and Delhi Fire Services personnel were deployed to the school. Initial checks found no suspicious objects, and detailed sanitisation of the campus is ongoing.
Cyber Teams Investigate Source
Cyber cell teams are examining the emails to determine their origin and verify authenticity. Police are also checking if similar threats were sent to other institutions in Delhi.
Trend of Bomb Threat Emails in Delhi Schools
This incident follows a growing trend in Delhi-NCR, where multiple schools have received bomb threats in recent weeks. Last year, over 500 such cases were reported.
Earlier this week, three schools, CRPF Public School (Rohini), St. Thomas School (Dwarka), and DAV Centenary Public School (Paschim Enclave) also received bomb threat emails. Police later confirmed those as hoaxes.
Authorities have urged school administrations to remain vigilant and continue following strict security protocols. Parents and the public have been advised to stay calm while investigations continue.
