Jind: Army Soldier from Narwana dies after service rifle goes off

Amarjeet Nain, a soldier from Jajwala village in Narwana, was martyred while on duty in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. Amarjeet Nain’s father, Ramesh, is also a soldier. Upon receiving news of his death, the entire village was plunged into mourning. The entire village gathered to offer condolences to the bereaved family.

The martyr’s funeral will be held with full military honors in his native village, Jajwala, at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. This is the second martyrdom in Jajwala village in a year. This is the second soldier from Jajwala to sacrifice his life in defense of the country. On July 8, 2024, Pradeep Nain, a soldier from the village, was also martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Kashmir.

Death due to an accidental gunshot
On Monday, while on duty, Naib Amarjeet Singh’s service rifle suddenly fired, leaving him seriously injured. Upon hearing the gunshot, panic gripped the camp, and fellow soldiers immediately rushed to the scene but by that time he passed away. His post-mortem has been conducted. His body will be brought to the village on Tuesday, and the last rites will be performed at 3 p.m.

According to villagers, Amarjeet Nain served as a sentry and was very friendly. Whenever he visited the village, he greeted everyone warmly.
