Ferozepur, Punjab: Police today arrested two suspects in the murder case of Naveen, the grandson of an RSS leader, in Ferozepur, Punjab. Both were apprehended in the city. Three days ago, criminals opened fire in the middle of the city market and killed Naveen.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Kanav and Harsh. The Khalistani organization, the Sher-e-Punjab Brigade, claimed responsibility for the murder, stating it had “reformed the leader of a Hindutva gang.”

Planning Took Place at Kanav’s House

SSP Firozpur Bhupinder Singh stated that Kanav and Harsh conducted Naveen’s recce. The entire planning for the murder took place at Kanav’s house. Four people were directly involved in the incident. Kanav and Harsh, arrested in the city, confessed during interrogation.

Two Accomplices Still Absconding

SSP Bhupinder Singh confirmed that two accomplices remain at large. Police teams have been formed to apprehend them, and raids are underway.

Accused Split Into Two Groups

According to the police, the accused divided themselves into two groups. Two stood at one end of the Mochi Bazaar alley and two at the other to ensure Naveen would be surrounded from any direction. Harsh and Kanav were positioned on one side and were prepared to open fire. After the incident, they helped the shooters escape.

Jatin and Kali Identified as Main Conspirators

The SSP said the main accused is Jatin Kali. He initially offered the youths ₹5,000 to carry out the killing. When they refused, the amount increased to ₹25,000, and eventually ₹1 lakh. After this, the youths agreed to the plan. The shooters were Badal and his companion, whose names have not been revealed because they remain absconding.

Trips to UP to Procure Weapons

According to the SSP, Kanav, Harsh, Jatin, and Kali went to Uttar Pradesh twice to procure weapons. The first attempt failed, but the second succeeded. Jatin Kali reportedly had a rivalry with Naveen Arora, and police are investigating the nature of this conflict.

Khalistani Organization Issues Post Claiming Responsibility

A post attributed to the Sher-e-Punjab Brigade surfaced after the murder. The organization declared its involvement and said it aims to continue its struggle until Khalistan is established.

Fight Will Continue Until Khalistan Is Achieved

The post reads: “We announce the establishment of the Sher-e-Punjab Brigade to contribute to the struggle for Khalistan’s independence. We pledge to continue this crusade against India’s forceful occupation of Punjab until the final goal, the establishment of Khalistan, is achieved.”

Claim of Targeting RSS Leader’s Family

It further states: “With this goal in mind, Naveen Arora, son of Baldev Raj Arora, a leader of the Hindutva group RSS… was reformed today in the Mochi Bazaar area of Ferozepur. He was a member of the RSS.”

Accusations Against the Family

The post alleges that Baldev Raj’s family has long been associated with anti-Punjab and anti-Sikh activities and had celebrated the deaths of Sikh children during 1984.

Warning of Continued Attacks

The message declares: “Those who live in Punjab and betray the Sikh community… will never be spared. We will continue to attack the RSS, Shiv Sena, police, military, and agents of the Hindu government.”

The post ends with the signature of commander Paramjit Singh and acknowledgment by spokesperson Bahadur Singh Sandhu. However, Bhaskar does not confirm the authenticity of this post.
