Kejriwal and Mann Praise Youth at LPU’s ‘One India Fest’, Celebrate India’s Cultural Unity

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann graced the grand ‘One India Fest’ at Lovely Professional University (LPU) as chief guests. Kejriwal described the event as “a magnificent celebration of India’s unity,” while Mann highlighted Punjab’s emergence as a hub of both education and cultural excellence.

Both leaders lauded the festival for its message of national harmony and encouraged students to contribute to India’s progress.

Students Showcase India’s Diversity Under ‘Mini India’ Theme
The festival featured thousands of students presenting India’s cultural richness under the ‘Mini India’ theme. Performances included folk dances, music, traditional attire, and cuisines representing every state—from Punjab’s Bhangra and Rajasthan’s Ghoomar to Kerala’s Mohiniyattam and Assam’s Bihu. The campus was transformed into a vibrant cultural tableau, with traditional stalls, handicrafts, and art exhibitions, reflecting India’s diverse heritage.

Leaders Stress Unity and Youth Development
Kejriwal emphasized the importance of unity in diversity, saying, “India’s real strength lies in its diversity. When youth from different states, languages, and cultures come together and stand on one platform, it shows that we are all one.” CM Mann spoke about the government’s focus on education and youth development, highlighting initiatives to promote cultural and creative activities in universities and colleges.

Food, Art, and Culture Take Center Stage
Alongside performances, students organized culinary exhibitions featuring regional dishes like Punjab’s Sarson ka Saag and Makki ki Roti, Bengal’s Rasgulla and fish preparations, Hyderabad’s Biryani, and South Indian Dosa-Idli, filling the campus with aromas of India’s culinary diversity. Artisans and students displayed traditional jewelry, handicrafts, and artworks, further enriching the experience.

Festival Inspires Youth, Highlights National Harmony
LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal said over 50,000 students, teachers, and guests participated, representing more than 30 states. He emphasized the festival’s role in helping students appreciate and respect different cultures. Kejriwal congratulated the organizers, saying, “Punjab’s youth is India’s future. The energy and enthusiasm I witnessed here today assures me that India’s future is bright.”

The ‘One India Fest’ has firmly established itself as a national platform celebrating cultural diversity and fostering unity, reinforcing the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
