    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed deep concern over the health of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, who had been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after suffering a cardiac arrest.

    Taking to X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Deeply concerned to hear that Asha Bhosle Ji has been admitted to hospital. Praying for her good health and a speedy recovery.”

    In a tragic development, Asha Bhosle is no more. The 92-year-old iconic singer passed away after undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital. She had been admitted on Saturday following a cardiac arrest and was being treated in the Emergency Medical Services unit.

    Mumbai-based doctor Prateet Samdani said, “It is sad news that Asha Bhosle has passed away today. She was suffering from multiple medical complications and died due to multi-organ failure.”

    Family sources confirmed that her last rites will be held on Monday. Further details regarding the funeral are expected to be announced soon.

    Earlier, her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle had shared that the veteran singer was hospitalised due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection, while also requesting privacy for the family during the difficult time.
