‘We are not the kind of people who retreat’: CJP’s Ashutosh Ranka demands action over alleged Jaipur violence

Jaipur: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka on Sunday demanded the arrest of those allegedly involved in violence during party workers’ visit to a government school in Jaipur’s Rampura-Kanwarpura village.

Ranka reiterated that the Rajasthan government should take action on the FIRs filed in connection with the incident and said those accused of allegedly indulging in violence and provoking the confrontation should be arrested.

He also said the party was prepared to face action if evidence established wrongdoing by its own workers.

“Regarding those who engaged in hooliganism and incited violence — arrest them. Take action on the FIRs we have filed. If you believe we also engaged in hooliganism, arrest us too. But you would need evidence. We have evidence that we have shared in the public domain,” Ranka told ANI.

    Ranka demands action on FIRs

Ranka urged the Rajasthan government to focus on improving government schools across the state instead of getting involved in what he described as “theatrics and violence”.

“Show your commitment and focus on fixing all the schools in Rajasthan. You would only be wasting time on theatrics and violence. You faced nationwide embarrassment. There was no need for the incident that occurred the other day,” he said.

According to Ranka, the CJP raised two demands following the incident — improvement and reconstruction of the affected school and action against those allegedly responsible for the violence.

He said the government had accepted the first demand, with reconstruction work at the school scheduled to begin from September 1 and an allocation of ₹18 lakh reportedly made for the project.

“One demand has been met, and the other is now in the government’s court. The sooner the government takes action, the sooner we will close this chapter,” he said.

Ranka said the party would continue to press the government for action against those allegedly responsible for the violence.

“If the government thinks we will back down, let me reiterate that we are not the kind of people who retreat. You have seen our experience at Jantar Mantar,” he said.

He also stressed that the focus should remain on education and improving school infrastructure, saying better facilities would directly benefit students and help secure their future.

CJP to continue Rajasthan school outreach

The dispute emerged after CJP workers visited a government school in Rampura-Kanwarpura as part of the party’s campaign highlighting concerns over government-school infrastructure and education facilities.

The visit reportedly led to a confrontation with locals, with the party alleging that its workers were assaulted and subjected to violence.

Ranka said CJP workers would continue visiting government schools in different parts of Rajasthan as part of their outreach programme.

He said the party was also travelling to Jodhpur for a previously scheduled programme related to education policy and would meet party workers there. In the coming days, CJP workers are expected to visit districts in western Rajasthan and interact with residents while assessing the condition of government schools.

Ranka also addressed questions surrounding a photograph showing him with Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra and Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully, saying that meeting political leaders should not be interpreted as an indication of political affiliation.

“I have stood with Bhajan Lal ji as well. I had gone to submit a memorandum to him on the Dholpur flood issue. I will put that photograph in the public domain today. Then you can call me part of the BJP team too,” he said.

Ranka maintained that the CJP’s immediate focus remained on the two demands raised after the school incident — improving school infrastructure and ensuring action against those allegedly responsible for the violence.
