Madhya Pradesh: Nine people have died so far after consuming toxic, illicit liquor in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. Around 35 people were brought to the hospital, some of whom remain in critical condition. They have been referred to Bundelkhand Medical College and Sagar District Hospital. The death toll is expected to rise.
According to doctors, the patients brought to the hospital were blue in the body and experiencing stiffness. Following the incident, screenings are being conducted in the affected villages. Those who consumed alcohol are being brought to the hospital for checkups.
Collector Pratibha Pal has appealed to people to get tested immediately if they have consumed any type of alcohol in the last 24 to 48 hours or are experiencing symptoms of alcohol poisoning. She said people can contact a team of local doctors or go directly to the Civil Hospital for testing.

It is reported that residents of Ghughar, Nauraj, Barrage, and surrounding areas consumed alcohol on Saturday night. Their health deteriorated afterward. Their families rushed them to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead. The death toll is expected to rise.

Collector said – fell ill after drinking poisonous liquor
The Collector stated that medical teams are continuously monitoring all cases. Necessary medical and administrative action is being taken based on the situation.
The deceased are believed to be from four villages. The administration is investigating the matter and further action is being taken to determine the cause of death due to alcohol consumption.
