Incident in Tripura: Atleast Three Individuals killed, Four injured as brick kiln chimney collapses

Kamalpur: A district administration official said the accident occurred in Kamalpur, North Tripura, while the brick kiln was in operation. Fire and Emergency Services, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local residents worked together to retrieve the bodies of the deceased and admitted the injured to nearby hospitals.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed condolences to the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery. He wrote on his X account, “It has been reported that the chimney of ABC Brick Industry in Kamalpur suddenly collapsed, resulting in the death of three people and injuries to four others. SDRF and police teams are carrying out rescue and relief operations at the spot.

Dead and Treatment

The deceased have been identified as Subal Debnath (55) and Pinku Shil (37), residents of Tripura, and Anil Gautam (49), a resident of Uttar Pradesh. Two of the four injured are from Jharkhand. Three were transferred to Govind Ballabh Pant Medical College and Hospital in Agartala for better treatment.

The brick kiln owner, Souvik Paul, and his manager have been detained by the police and are being held at the Kamalpur police station. Dhalai District Superintendent of Police Mihir Lal Das and local BJP MLA Manoj Kanti Deb monitored the rescue operations.

River Accident in Unakoti District

Fire and Emergency Services personnel recovered the body of a 19-year-old student from the Manu River in Unakoti district, North Tripura. Police said four youths had gone to bathe in the river on Tuesday. Locals rescued three of the youths, while the student could not be found on Tuesday and his body was recovered later.
