Attempt to Desecrate Gurdwara in Tarn Taran: Woman Tries to Pick Up Kirpan, Nabbed by Volunteers

A case of attempted desecration has come to light at Gurdwara Mata Bhag Kaur Ji, located near Jhabal town in Tarn Taran district. This incident has created an atmosphere of concern in the area. The entire event was captured on the CCTV cameras installed there. According to information, yesterday evening during Rehras Sahib, a woman entered the Gurdwara Sahib under the pretext of paying her respects.

According to the Gurdwara management, the woman climbed onto the platform near the Prakash Sthan of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The sevadars present there immediately took action and brought her down. It is being reported that the woman also tried to pick up one of the weapons placed in front, but the sevadars on duty prevented her in time.

The volunteers informed the police about the incident.

After that, the woman tried to step outside, but the congregation and volunteers caught her right there. The police were informed immediately. On receiving the information, DSP City Sukhbir Singh and the Jhabbal police team reached the spot and took the woman into custody. Taking the matter seriously, the police have registered a case under sections related to desecration and have started an investigation.

DSP Sukhbir Singh said that the arrested woman seems to be a resident of Punjab and her mental state does not appear normal. The process to get her medically examined has already started. The police are also investigating to identify her and find her relatives. For now, the police are conducting a thorough investigation into every aspect of the matter and are also reviewing CCTV footage.
