Australia beats West Indies in the second T20I to win the series 2-0

Australia: St. Vincent’s Alana King once again performed brilliantly, taking 2-25 as Australia defeated West Indies by 17 runs in the second T20I to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Australia’s strong batting
Batting first, Australia got off to a quick start with Georgia Voll scoring 39 runs off 23 balls, including six fours and a six. Phoebe Litchfield (35) and Ellyse Perry (42) then put on a 58-run partnership for the third wicket to put the team in a strong position.

Perry, Georgia Wareham, and Nicola Carey added quick runs in the final overs, taking the team to 164/5 in 20 overs.

West Indies’ Slow Start
Chasing the target, the West Indies got off to a poor start. Kiana Joseph was run out early, and the team managed only 26 runs in the powerplay. The Australian bowlers maintained the pressure with tight bowling.

King Changes the Match
Captain Hayley Matthews tried to revive the team with 56 runs off 41 balls and shared a 77-run partnership with Stafanie Taylor. However, Alana King dismissed both of them, turning the match in Australia’s favour.

All-Round Performance Wins Series
In the end, Deandra Dottin (39 not out) fought back, but the team could only reach 147/4 and lost by 17 runs. Australia won the series thanks to a brilliant all-round performance.
