Australian Police Arrest Suspect After Deadly Sydney Stabbing

Sydney: A 47-year-old man was arrested in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, on Sunday after a woman was found dead and another man was taken to hospital in critical condition in Sydney’s northwest region.
Around 5:00 a.m. local time, police responded to a report of a fight at a home in Quakers Hill, about 40 kilometers from Sydney’s central business district (CBD).

Woman died on the spot, man seriously injured

When police arrived, they found a man lying in a pool of blood on the sidewalk outside the home, suffering from multiple stab wounds. A woman was found dead inside the home.
According to NSW Police, the woman has not yet been formally identified. The injured man was given first aid by ambulance personnel and taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Accused surrenders himself at police station

About 30 minutes after the incident, around 5:30 a.m., the 47-year-old suspect turned himself in at a police station and was immediately arrested.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and forensic teams have cordoned off the house and are collecting evidence. The motive behind the incident and the relationship between the suspect and the victims are also being investigated.

Separate incident: Teens attack convenience store employee

Prior to this latest incident, a store employee was attacked in the Burwood area of ​​western Sydney in November.
The incident occurred at around 2:20 a.m. on November 20th, when the 28-year-old employee tried to stop some teenagers from stealing goods. He was stabbed in the chest.
The employee was hospitalized in critical condition, where his condition was described as serious but stable.

According to NSW Police, all five teenagers were arrested. They were refused bail and are expected to appear in Children’s Court on November 21.
