Ayushman Bharat Provides Free Treatment, Financial Relief to Poor Families in Koderma

Koderma: The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) is proving to be a significant relief for poor families in Jharkhand’s Koderma district. Under this government health scheme, thousands of needy families are receiving free treatment, relieving them of the cost of expensive hospitalizations.

This scheme is providing support for patients suffering from serious illnesses, relieving them of the worry of raising large sums of money or taking out loans for treatment.

Beneficiaries are receiving treatment at both government hospitals in the district and private hospitals participating in the scheme. Previously, families who found it financially difficult to afford surgeries and serious illnesses are now benefiting from cashless treatment through the Ayushman card.

Young woman suffering from appendicitis receives free treatment

A young woman from Koderma, suffering from appendicitis, reported arriving at the hospital in severe pain. After the examination, she learned about her illness. According to the young woman, the doctor told her that she could receive free treatment through the Ayushman Card.

She said, “I got my Ayushman Card made and now I am receiving treatment without paying any money.”

The young woman further stated that this scheme is very helpful for those who are financially poor. It’s not possible for everyone to suddenly raise a large sum of money for treatment. She expressed her gratitude to the Prime Minister for this scheme and expressed hope that it will continue to expand in the future.

 Treatment worth 30,000 to 40,000 rupees is free with the Ayushman Card

Rahima Parveen, another beneficiary of the scheme, said that she went to the hospital for treatment due to severe stomach pain. The examination revealed that she had gallstones. According to the doctors, her treatment was estimated to cost around 30,000 to 40,000 rupees.

Rahima Parveen said that she later learned about the free treatment available through the Ayushman Card. She obtained the card and is now receiving her entire treatment without any payment.

She said, “This card is very beneficial for everyone, especially the poor. I want to thank the Prime Minister. This is a huge help for poor families.”

Treatment up to ₹5 lakh per year

Under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, eligible families receive cashless hospital treatment up to ₹5 lakh per family per year. This card can be used for eligible treatments at government and private hospitals listed under the scheme across the country.

Families of patients hospitalized for serious illnesses and surgeries say that this scheme has reduced the financial burden on their families. Arranging money for treatment in an emergency is extremely difficult for many families. In such a situation, the free treatment facility is providing them great relief.

Facilities Available at Government and Private Hospitals in Koderma

Koderma district has several government hospitals and dozens of listed private hospitals where eligible beneficiaries can receive treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

This initiative is helping economically disadvantaged families access timely healthcare and avoid the burden of debt due to expensive treatment.
