Mumbai: After a stellar 2025, Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is excited about 2026. He is set to enter the new year with two consecutive 100 crore-plus grossing films, Dream Girl 2 and Thamma. Ayushmann says this success is very special and comforting for him in the post-pandemic era.

Speaking about his plans for 2026, Ayushmann said that he is particularly excited about *Pati Patni Aur Woh 2*, a clean family comedy. He said that family entertainers always have a place with audiences. Furthermore, he will also be seen in Sooraj Barjatya’s next film, whom he described as a very simple, humble, and hardworking filmmaker.

According to Ayushmann, in Sooraj Barjatya’s films, the entire family is at the center of the story, not just the hero, which makes them special. He said that playing a ‘green flag’ hero in a Barjatya film will be a refreshing experience in today’s times.

Franchise films, upcoming projects, and professional considerations

Ayushmann explained that he typically prefers to play flawed characters, but Barjatya’s film celebrates an ideal and complete family. He described it as inspiring and heartwarming.

Ayushmann will begin shooting for the YRF-Posham Pa project in early 2026, and his Dharma Shikshaya film is also ready for release. Describing himself as a “producer-friendly actor,” he said he prioritizes collaboration and simplicity on set.

Speaking about franchise films, Ayushmann said that the success of films like Badhaai Ho and Dream Girl helps him gain audience trust. He also opened up the possibility of a film like Andhadhun 2 in the future.
