    Ayushmann Khurrana Pays Musical Tribute to Asha Bhosle

    Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, last seen in “Thamma,” paid tribute to the legendary singer Asha Bhosle through music.

    On Wednesday, he shared a video on Instagram in which he was seen playing the guitar and singing “Dus Mereya Dilbara.” This Punjabi song was sung by Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi.

    He wrote in the caption, “This is my favorite lesser-known Punjabi song by Asha ji. I grew up listening to her voice and it will live on forever.”

    Asha Bhosle’s Legacy

    One of the most influential singers of her time, Asha Bhosle began her career with the 1943 Marathi film “Majha Bal.”

    She sang many hit songs such as “Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko,” “Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani,” “Kya Gajab Karte Ho Ji,” “O Haseena Zulfonwali,” and “Yeh Ladka Hai Allah.”

    In addition to Hindi, she also sang songs in nearly 20 Indian and foreign languages.

    Death and Honors

    Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12. She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital.

    She was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008.

    Her body was cremated with full state honors at the Shivaji Park crematorium in Mumbai.

    Celebs and leaders paid tribute

    Many celebrities including Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Tabu, Vivek Oberoi, Anu Malik, Anup Jalota, Sudesh Bhosale, Shaan, Ramesh Sippy and Padmini Kolhapure attended the funeral.

    Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray also paid their last respects.
