    Three Killed, Six Critically Injured As Speeding Car Crashes Into Tree In Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh

    Azamgarh: At least three people were killed and six others critically injured after a speeding car lost control, rammed into a roadside tree and overturned in Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh district early Tuesday morning, officials said.

    The accident took place near Jagdishpur village under the Phulpur police station area at around 5 am. According to police, nine people were travelling in the Punjab-registered car from Phulpur towards Sarai Mir after participating in Ganesh Chaturthi festivities at a Rajbhar pandal when the vehicle suddenly went out of control and crashed into the tree.

    The impact triggered chaos at the scene, with cries for help reported following the crash.

    Two Died On Spot, Third Succumbs During Treatment

    Police said Satyam Modanwal (20) and Nikhil Gupta (17) died on the spot. Another passenger, Lucky Sonkar (19), later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Phulpur Hospital.

    The six injured passengers were identified as Ansh Sonkar, Anmol Modanwal, Kishan Modanwal, Saksham Baranwal, Anurag Pandey and Shagun alias Kaustubh Pandey. All six were taken to hospital and their condition was reported to be critical.

    Police Launch Rescue Operation, Investigate Crash

    After receiving information about the accident, Phulpur Circle Officer Kiran Pal Singh and local police reached the spot.

    Police personnel initiated relief and rescue operations and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Procedures are underway to take possession of the bodies and send them for post-mortem examinations.

    CO Kiran Pal Singh said the exact cause of the crash is being investigated.

    Earlier Baghpat Accident Killed Four

    In another road accident in Uttar Pradesh earlier this month, at least four people were killed and several others injured after a bus carrying pilgrims overturned after hitting a divider in Baghpat district on September 6.

    The accident occurred on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway near the Badagaon cut around 12:30 am, when the bus was returning from Bangar in Rajasthan.

    According to police, information about the accident was received through the 112 emergency service. The injured passengers were rescued and taken to the Community Health Centre and district hospital for treatment. Those with critical injuries were referred to higher medical centres for advanced care.
