After Ram Temple, Badrinath Dham Hit by Donation Theft Row; Probe Ordered

Dehradun: Days after the alleged donation theft controversy at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a similar row has surfaced at Badrinath Dham in Uttarakhand, prompting the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) to order an official inquiry into allegations of misappropriation of temple donations.

The committee has constituted an independent inquiry panel to conduct a fact-based investigation into the claims, which gained attention after allegations circulated on social media.

BKTC Orders Independent Investigation

BKTC Chairman Hemant Dwivedi announced that an inquiry committee has been formed to examine allegations of irregularities involving offerings and donations at Badrinath Dham.

According to the committee, the probe aims to establish the facts in an impartial manner while ensuring transparency and accountability in the management of temple donations.

The inquiry follows allegations that some donations and offerings made by devotees were allegedly misappropriated. The committee has not confirmed the allegations and has said the investigation will determine the facts.

Notices Issued, Records Under Examination

As part of the inquiry, notices have reportedly been issued to certain temple committee employees and individuals connected with temple administration.

Officials are examining donation records and related procedures to determine whether any financial irregularities occurred. The committee has assured devotees that appropriate action will be taken if any wrongdoing is established.

Fresh Scrutiny After Ram Temple Donation Row

The development comes at a time when investigations into the alleged donation theft case at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya are continuing.

The emergence of similar allegations at another prominent pilgrimage site has renewed calls for stronger financial oversight, transparent accounting systems and stricter safeguards in the management of donations received at major religious institutions.

BKTC officials have urged the public not to draw conclusions until the inquiry is completed and have reiterated their commitment to maintaining transparency in temple administration.
