Bahadurgarh: Huge Fire Engulfs Two Factories, 2 Workers Seriously Injured

Jhajjar: A massive fire broke out in two factories in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, on Sunday morning. Two laborers working at the site sustained severe burns after being engulfed by the flames. Both were initially rushed to the Civil Hospital in Bahadurgarh, from where they were referred to PGI Rohtak for further treatment.

Both factories are located in Sector-17 of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) complex, where shoes and mattresses are manufactured.

The injured laborers have been identified as Monu (30), a resident of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, and Deepak (25), a resident of Kanpur. Both were working at the factory situated at Plot Number 261 in Sector-17.

How the Fire Broke Out

The fire reportedly broke out around 7:00 AM at a shoe manufacturing factory located at Plot No. 261 in Sector-17, Bahadurgarh. The blaze is believed to have started in raw materials and packing supplies stored inside the unit. Within minutes, the flames spread across the factory, fueled by highly combustible materials and strong winds, turning the incident into a massive fire. The towering flames and thick smoke caused panic among workers on site.

Fire Spread to Mattress Factory, Two Workers Burnt

The fire soon spread to the adjoining premises, Shanti Enterprises, located at Plot No. 262, where mattresses are manufactured. Since the unit stored chemicals and other flammable materials used in production, the blaze intensified rapidly, sending dense smoke across the surrounding area. Two workers suffered severe burn injuries after getting trapped in the fire, while several others managed to escape safely. Local residents promptly informed the fire department and district authorities, following which firefighting operations were launched.

Fire Tenders Called in From Other Districts

Upon receiving the information, fire tenders from the Bahadurgarh fire station rushed to the scene; however, the fire had spread so extensively that additional fire tenders had to be summoned from Jhajjar, Rohtak, and Delhi. The firefighting operation remains underway.

As of now, the actual cause of the fire has not been ascertained. The administration and fire brigade teams are actively engaged in efforts to bring the blaze completely under control. An assessment of the damage will be conducted once the fire has been extinguished.
