Bangladesh Name Litton Das‑Led Squad for T20 World Cup

January 4, 2026

Bangladesh have officially named their 15‑member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to be co‑hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8. Wicketkeeper‑batter Litton Das will lead the team as captain once again.

Strong Team With Balanced Attack

Under Das’s leadership, Bangladesh’s batting lineup will rely on his experience at the top, with support from players like Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon. The squad boasts a well‑rounded bowling unit featuring seasoned pacers Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed, alongside spin options such as Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, and Rishad Hossain.

Group Stage Challenge

Bangladesh is drawn in Group C, where they will begin their campaign against the West Indies on February 7 in Kolkata. They will also face Italy, England and Nepal in their other group matches.

Aim to Advance Beyond Group Stage

Despite featuring in every T20 World Cup so far, Bangladesh have never reached the semifinals. With a mix of youth and experience, this squad aims to break that record and make a deeper run in the 2026 tournament.
