Bareilly: Administration Demolishes Illegal Mosque Built on Village Community Land

Bareilly: The district administration in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday carried out a demolition drive against a mosque that was allegedly built illegally on village community land in Pipriya village under the Bhojipura police station area.

According to officials, the structure had been constructed without legal permission on community land and was declared an illegal encroachment following prolonged legal proceedings. The action was taken after orders from the competent courts, including the Allahabad High Court.

A bulldozer was used to demolish the mosque amid heavy police deployment to prevent any law-and-order situation. Senior administrative and police officials were present at the site to supervise the operation.

Officials said the dispute over the land had been pending for several years. The Tehsildar’s court and the civil court had earlier ruled that the land belonged to the village community and that the construction was unauthorised. Notices were issued to the concerned parties prior to the demolition.

The administration stated that the action was carried out strictly in accordance with the court’s directions and existing laws related to encroachments on public land.

Police said the situation in the area remained peaceful during and after the demolition, and no untoward incident was reported.

Authorities reiterated that similar action would be taken against any illegal encroachments on government or community land, irrespective of the nature of the structure.
