Barnala, August 10: Punjab Police today (August 10) demolished the building of a family linked to drug smugglers in Barnala. It is alleged that these people had constructed the building on panchayat land using drug money. This action was taken jointly by Handiaya Nagar Panchayat and the police.
SSP Barnala Mohammad Sarfaraz Alam himself was present on the spot. He said that at any cost, drug smugglers will not be forgiven in Punjab.
Gaura Singh jailed, Amarjit Kaur out on bail
The police is investigating the case. SSP said that although the whole family is involved in drug business, 16 cases of NDPS are registered against the accused Gaura Singh and Amarjit Kaur. Gaura Singh is currently in jail, while Amarjit Kaur is on bail. Gaura Singh also has two brothers, against whom cases of excise etc. are registered.
