Baseless US report rejects India’s Operation Sindoor success

Wars are no longer fought solely on the battlefield. These days, wars are waged even after the war, a strategy known as propaganda warfare. The narrative of victory and defeat is also shaped by which side’s position is accepted in this propaganda war. US President Donald Trump has, from the outset, attempted to diminish the decisive victory achieved by India in retaliation for the targeted killing of Hindu tourists by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, by invading 350 kilometres into Pakistan, destroying its terrorist bases, and sending those responsible for the terror to hell.

The latest statement is that when he threatened to impose a 350 per cent tariff, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to stop the violence. As soon as the ceasefire was signed after Operation Sindoor, the US President declared that both India and Pakistan are nuclear powers. To prevent the war from becoming a destructive message, they persuaded both countries to a ceasefire by threatening tariffs. India’s position was that Pakistan is a hotbed of terrorists and that terrorism against India is constantly being nurtured from there, so India had to use Operation Sindoor as a decisive weapon. India argued that no party was responsible for the ceasefire; the ceasefire was declared at the request of the Pakistani Director General of Police (DGMO), and that if Pakistan did not desist from nurturing terrorists, India could launch Operation Sindoor 2.0.

Recent statements by the Indian Army Chief created fear in a restless and chaotic Pakistan that India was going to launch Operation Sindoor 2.0. In the propaganda war that followed the ceasefire, Pakistan spared no effort to intimidate India. In fact, Pakistan joined India in the United Nations’ list of countries affected by terrorism. A US report has now been released. This 800-page report was released by the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC). It is a bundle of lies. The report states that Pakistan defeated India during Operation Sindoor. It does not consider the Pahalgam attack a terrorist attack.

The report claims that Pakistan achieved a major military success in the four-day war between India and Pakistan in May 2025. Pahalgam is considered an insurgent attack, not a terrorist attack. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh strongly objected to the report, saying it is a major blow to Indian diplomacy. The report states that Pakistan claims to have shot down six Rafale aircraft, but the report confirms the downing of three Indian aircraft.

An astonishing fact is that the major powers behind the war, China and Russia, wanted to test the effectiveness of their weapons, and Pakistan also received intelligence from China. Five months after the India-Pakistan conflict, China sold 42 J-10C fighters to Indonesia worth Rs 75,000 crore. Thus, 82 per cent of Pakistan’s weapons were Chinese. Now, when wars are fought to sell weapons, what can one say if such a report advocates arms sales in trade? China has also objected to this report, stating that it was written for political purposes and that the US needs to reform its thinking.
