Batala: Medical shop owner murdered in broad-day light; case against unidentified assailants

A murder incident has come to light in Punjab. Unidentified persons have shot and killed medical store owner in Batala. The deceased has been identified as Randeep Singh.

According to information, an atmosphere of terror prevailed in the border town of Dera Baba Nanak today when Bedi Medical Store owner Randeep Singh Bedi, son of Raghbir Singh Bedi, resident of Dera Baba Nanak, was opening his medical store at around 8 am today. Suddenly, some unidentified persons opened fire on him.

Randeep succumbed to injuries

During this, the bullets hit Randeep Singh in the head, due to which he was seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital by the people around the spot, from where he was referred to Amritsar due to his serious condition, where he died on the way.

It is being said that Randeep Singh was also shot at a few months ago for ransom. Police reached the spot after the incident, and an investigation was initiated.

Giving information about the case, SSP Batala Mehtab Singh said that no ransom talks have come to light at this time. However, a ransom case came to light in 2024, which is being investigated by the police. Police ensured that the arrest of the accused will be made soon by the police.
