Bathinda: 8-year-old girl mauled by stray dogs, condition critical

A case of an eight-year-old girl being mauled by stray dogs in the village Bhagu of Bathinda district has come to light. The injured girl has been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Bathinda for treatment, where her condition is critical. The girl has been bitten in 40 places, due to which her condition is very serious.

The girl’s mother, Karamjit Kaur, said that when the girl went outside to play, a pack of dogs dragged her outside to the field. Hearing her screams, she went outside, called the neighbors, and freed the girl from the dogs, after which the girl was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Bathinda for treatment.

The mother of the victim girl said that there are too many dogs in the village, the panchayat has been told about this many times, but no one pays attention to it. Many children have been bitten by dogs many times. Social worker Gurjant Singh said that no one is safe here. Some are surrounded by drug addicts, some by stray dogs. Stray dogs are preying on children every day.

The villager said that this is not the first incident in the village, dogs have preyed on many children before this. Children are not safe even while going to school, and neither is the government nor the administration is paying any attention to this.
