Chandigarh: The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) celebrated Independence Day at its Secretariat Office in Chandigarh with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
BBMB Chairman Manoj Tripathi unfurled the National Flag during the ceremony. Officers and employees present at the event collectively sang Vande Mataram and the National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana.
Children present cultural programme
Children of the BBMB family presented a cultural programme featuring patriotic songs and dance performances based on themes of freedom, valour and patriotism.
The officers and employees also participated enthusiastically in the celebrations.
Chairman stresses dedication and use of AI
Addressing the gathering, the BBMB Chairman highlighted the importance of Independence Day and called upon employees to work with dedication, sincerity and mutual cooperation for the unity, integrity and progress of the country.
He also urged employees to continuously upgrade their skills and make responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in official work to improve efficiency and keep pace with changing technology.
BBMB Hospital may be linked with AIIMS or PGI
The Chairman said efforts were underway to have the BBMB Hospital at Talwara adopted by AIIMS or PGI Chandigarh, which could strengthen healthcare services for beneficiaries.
He also highlighted plans to promote tourism in the Bhakra-Nangal area, including the construction of a three-storey museum at Nangal.
Pandoh school upgraded, cashless health facility launched
The Chairman said the BBMB School at Pandoh had been successfully upgraded, with student strength increasing to around 250.
He further informed employees that a cashless health facility had been made available for serving BBMB employees.
At the conclusion of the programme, prizes were distributed to children who participated in the cultural programme as a gesture of encouragement and appreciation.
