Gwalior: Renowned singer Kailash Kher, who was performing at the event, was forced to leave the stage mid-show. The crowd continued to break through barricades and try to reach the stage, worsening the situation.
Despite repeated appeals, the crowd remained unruly.
Kailash Kher repeatedly appealed to the audience to remain calm and not break the security cordon, but the crowd remained unstoppable. This posed a threat to Kher, his team, and the sound and light equipment. Security forces also failed to control the crowd’s enthusiasm, leading to further chaos at the event.
In a video viral on social media, Kher can be heard sternly telling the crowd, “If anyone comes near us or our equipment, we will stop the show immediately. We appreciate you so much, but right now you’re behaving like animals… Stop behaving like animals.”
Seeing the situation worsen, the singer sought help from police officers, but due to a lack of adequate arrangements, he and his team had to cancel the show and leave the venue.
Earlier expressed happiness on Instagram
Before the event, Kher had posted on Instagram, writing, “Gwalior, let’s turn the city into a festival today.”
The event was organized to commemorate Gwalior Pride Day and Tabla Day. Kher has not yet issued an official statement on the matter following the incident.
