Bengaluru Anti-Narcotics Unit Arrests Two, Seizes Rs 10 Crore Drugs

The case has exposed a wider inter-state drug trafficking network operating in and around Karnataka’s capital city.

The accused have been identified as Ashwin and Mubeena, both residents of the Bagalur locality in Bengaluru. Mubeena is originally from Kerala, and according to police investigations, both had been residing in the city for over a year while allegedly distributing banned drugs to customers.

Drugs and Evidence Recovered

During the operation, police seized a large quantity of contraband, including:

• 8,335 LSD strips weighing approximately 124 kg

• 5 kg of hydro ganja (a potent form of cannabis)

• 534 kg of charas (hashish)

• Two mobile phones

• One two-wheeler

All seized items have been taken into custody as evidence. The total assessed value of the narcotics is around Rs 10 crore, reflecting the substantial scale of the alleged trafficking ring.

Police say the drugs were procured from a supplier based in Kerala who is reportedly now settled in Thailand. Under his direction, the Bengaluru suspects are accused of storing and distributing the contraband locally. The operation also indicates that the network may have involved multiple intermediaries, with substances being routed from sources outside the state.

The Anti-Narcotics Wing acted on specific intelligence inputs and conducted a targeted raid in the Bagalur area. Officers learned that the accused were leveraging their residential address to conceal and distribute large quantities of narcotic substances. Seal-off and search procedures were carried out carefully as part of a coordinated plan to minimize risk while arresting suspects.

Following the arrests, a formal FIR has been registered under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigators are now working to trace the full supply chain and identify individuals further up in the trafficking hierarchy.
