28-Year-Old Killed, Two Injured in Bhadohi Land Dispute

A 28-year-old man was shot dead and two others injured during a violent clash over a land dispute in Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. The incident took place in Banpurawa Jangla village under the Aurai police station area, police said.

 Victim and Injured Identified

Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik confirmed that the deceased has been identified as Ashish Yadav, who died at the scene after being shot. Two others Akhilesh and Rajnath, associated with Ashish’s side of the dispute were also injured and taken for medical treatment.

 Licensed Gun Used in Shooting

Police said the accused, Brijesh Yadav, opened fire around 11 am with his licensed revolver during an escalation in the longstanding dispute over land rights that is currently sub judice in civil court. Multiple shots were fired, leading to the fatality and injuries.

 Arrests and Seizure of Weapon

Responding officers reached the crime scene quickly, detaining three individuals, including Brijesh, and seizing the licensed revolver used in the incident. The injured are being treated, and the case has been registered, with further investigation underway to determine motives and circumstances.

 Broader Issue of Land Disputes

Land disputes in Uttar Pradesh have frequently turned violent, with arguments over ownership and inheritance often escalating into clashes. Police and local authorities have repeatedly urged disputing parties to use legal channels and maintain peace to avoid such tragedies.
