Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today launched a sharp political attack on the BJP, Akali Dal, and Congress, accusing these traditional parties of practicing divisive politics, corruption, and betraying Punjab for decades.

Addressing a “Lok Milni” event in Manki village, Samrala, the Chief Minister said that these parties have harmed Punjab through anti-people decisions and communal politics. He also warned that if the BJP comes to power in the state, it could reintroduce the controversial farm laws.

CM Mann alleged that the BJP’s policies reflect an “anti-Punjab mindset,” citing the example of making Sanskrit compulsory in Army schools while keeping Punjabi optional. He further said the party is skilled in creating communal tension ahead of elections to divide voters.

The Chief Minister said that during the farmers’ protest against the farm laws, hundreds of farmers lost their lives, and questioned how the BJP could still seek votes in Punjab after such events.

He said that unlike previous governments, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is using public money for welfare schemes, jobs, education, healthcare, and development works. During the event, he also announced ₹50 lakh for development projects in the village.

Mann urged people to remain alert against forces trying to divide Punjab on religious and political lines, saying such elements are attempting to weaken the state socially, politically, and economically.

He accused the BJP of always promoting divisive politics and trying to create instability in Punjab before elections. He also said that some parties are trying to divide people in the name of religion.

The Chief Minister claimed that his government is working for transparent governance and development, unlike earlier regimes. He said he has not used public money for personal benefit and has focused on public welfare.

CM Mann said that earlier governments remained disconnected from the people, while his government directly engages with citizens and addresses their issues. He added that opposition parties are misleading people through false statements.

Attacking the Akali Dal, Mann referred to incidents of sacrilege and alleged wrongdoing during their rule, including drug-related issues and violent incidents such as those in Bargari, Behbal Kalan, and Kotkapura. He said the Akali leadership cannot be forgiven for these events.

He also criticized the Congress, saying it is a divided party where every leader aspires to become Chief Minister, and is struggling with internal conflicts.

Highlighting his government’s achievements, Mann said Punjab has seen major improvements in governance, infrastructure, irrigation, and public services. He claimed that free electricity is reaching 90% of households and over 65,000 government jobs have been given without corruption.

He further stated that canal irrigation has increased significantly in the state, with over 80% of irrigation now dependent on canal water compared to 22% earlier. He said thousands of kilometers of pipelines have been laid to strengthen water distribution.

The Chief Minister said water levels in Punjab have improved due to recharge projects and better water management systems. He emphasized that water conservation is essential for the state’s future.

He also stressed that education is key to eliminating poverty and said Punjab has achieved top ranking in school education according to NITI Aayog data. He added that reforms in teacher training, smart classrooms, and modern learning methods have improved the education system.

Mann highlighted the state’s health insurance scheme, under which 65 lakh families are receiving health cards with coverage up to ₹10 lakh per family. He also said lakhs of people have already benefited from free treatment.

He further said that farmers are now receiving uninterrupted daytime electricity during the paddy season for the first time in Punjab’s history.

The Chief Minister also spoke about welfare schemes for women, sports infrastructure development, and measures to combat drug abuse through youth engagement and sports promotion.

He concluded by saying that his government is focused on building a transparent, development-oriented and people-centric Punjab.
