CM Bhajanlal Sharma Hoists Tricolour in Bikaner, Calls for Collective Effort Towards Viksit Bharat

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Saturday hoisted the national flag at the state-level Independence Day celebration in Bikaner and called for collective efforts to build a developed India by 2047.

The main state-level ceremony was held at the historic Dr Karni Singh Stadium, where Sharma took the salute at the ceremonial parade. The stadium was decorated with tricolour flags and echoed with patriotic songs as thousands of people gathered for the celebrations.

At the beginning of his address, Sharma paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom, freedom fighters and soldiers guarding the country’s borders.

He said Rajasthan, known as the land of heroes, has a proud history of sacrifice, courage and patriotism.

Bhajanlal Sharma Highlights Viksit Rajasthan Roadmap

Greeting the people of Rajasthan on Independence Day, Sharma highlighted India’s economic progress and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.

The Chief Minister said Rajasthan was moving from “resolve to realisation” and outlined his government’s development roadmap for a Viksit Rajasthan.

He highlighted work in infrastructure, healthcare, education and solar energy, with a particular focus on border and remote areas such as Bikaner.

Rs 91,000 Crore Water Scheme Highlighted

Sharma placed special emphasis on water security and said the state government was working to improve water availability across Rajasthan.

According to the Chief Minister, a Rs 91,000-crore scheme would help provide drinking water to around 40 per cent of the state’s population. Efforts are also underway to improve water availability in the Shekhawati region.

He said the state government’s focus was on converting development commitments into tangible results and contributing to the broader national objective of a developed India.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Sharma were among those present at the ceremony.

The celebrations concluded with patriotic performances by school students and cultural groups, which drew applause from the thousands of spectators at the stadium.
