Hyderabad: A District Transport Officer (DTO) was killed after a tipper lorry allegedly rammed into him during a vehicle inspection drive in Telangana’s Jayashankar Bhupalapally district on Sunday.
The deceased officer was identified as K. Purushotham Reddy, who was carrying out checks on heavy vehicles along with his team when the incident occurred.
Lorry Hits Officer During Enforcement Drive
According to officials, the transport department team had stopped several vehicles for inspection when a tipper lorry approached the checking point. The vehicle reportedly hit the DTO, causing severe injuries.
Purushotham Reddy collapsed on the spot due to the impact. He was rushed for medical assistance but succumbed to his injuries.
