According to the information received, the Managing Director of PRTC has invited the contract employees for a meeting. The contract employees of PRTC are to meet with the administration at around 1 pm. It has been announced that the contract employees will go on a roadblock if their demands are not met. The meeting has been called at the PRTC head office located on Nabha Road in Patiala.

Long-standing struggle of contract employees

Leaders of the contract employees say that the employees have been struggling for their demands for a long time, but the government is not paying serious attention to their problems.

They alleged that various departments are being continuously privatized, which is posing a threat to the future of the employees. Union leaders say that false cases are being registered against protesting employees and actions like sending them to jail are being taken.

They said that repeated attempts have been made to draw the government’s attention to the demands of the employees, but no concrete solution has been found so far.
