Big relief for Govt employees from Punjab and Haryana High Court; refuse to stay order on DA arrears

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has given a big relief to all the government employees of Punjab. High Court has refused to stay the decision of the single bench to issue DA to the government employees of Punjab at par with IAS, IPS, and IFS and judicial officers.

The High Court said that all we can do is to extend the deadline of June 30 fixed by the single bench for the release of DA arrears, but only on the condition that the government prepares a schedule of when and how the DA arrears will be released.

Apart from this, during the hearing today, too, the government said that it is ready to pay the DA arrears, but the government is currently in a financial crisis. The High Court asked If the government keeps citing its financial crisis, why does it not declare a financial emergency in Punjab?”

In this regard, Shiromani Akali Dal’s chief spokesperson Advocate Arshdeep Singh Kler said that the refusal of the Honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court to grant a stay on the petition filed by the Punjab government to stop the due DA of government employees is a big victory for the truth and the rights of the employee class.
