The petition is linked to allegations involving a ₹5 crore bribery claim concerning Dr Gurpreet Kaur. The allegations had led to statements and social media discussions involving Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira and Ranjit Singh.

The court’s order means that any claims or material relating to Dr Gurpreet Kaur must be properly verified before being published or circulated, while the larger dispute remains under judicial consideration.
