Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Reviews Development Projects in Nawada, interacts with students, Jeevika Didis

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Nawada district on Friday and reviewed various ongoing projects.

Interacted with students and inspected school facilities

He first visited the Unnat Uchcha Madhyamik (+2) Vidyalaya campus in Chiraila village of Hardiya Panchayat under Rajauli block, where he inspected the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Boys Hostel.

During the visit, he interacted with the hostel students and inquired about their studies and available facilities.

He also interacted with the girls undergoing karate training on the school campus and encouraged them to study diligently.

He told the students, “You are the future of India. The government will fulfill your needs. Many congratulations and best wishes to all of you. Study diligently and move ahead.”

The students warmly welcomed the Chief Minister and honored him with thunderous applause.

Nitish Kumar also inspected the stalls set up by the Social Welfare Department, Education Department, Jeevika Didi’s, and students.

Support to Jeevika Didis and Women Empowerment

He also handed over symbolic cheques worth Rs 1.29 crore to 137 Jeevika Self-Help Groups, representing loans sanctioned by various banks.

Addressing the Jeevika Didis, he said, “You are all doing a great job. Your hard work is rapidly improving the economic condition of Bihar. The government will meet all your needs on time, and future requirements will also be met.”

The Jeevika Didis expressed their gratitude and said that the Self-Help Groups have boosted their self-confidence and reduced their financial dependence on their families.

They thanked the Chief Minister for launching the Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme, calling it a boon.

Beneficiaries also thanked the Chief Minister for increasing old-age, disability, and widow pensions from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1,100 per month, providing 125 units of free electricity to all domestic consumers, providing pure Ganga water to households, and significantly increasing the honorarium of Anganwadi workers, helpers, and ASHA workers.

Review of Health Facilities and Renewable Energy Project

The Chief Minister later visited the Health Sub-Centre cum Health and Wellness Centre in Hardiya, where he reviewed medical facilities, availability of medicines, and the deployment of doctors.

He also inspected a stall set up by the Health Department. Officials informed him that telemedicine services are available.

Under the Maternity Protection Campaign, pregnant women are provided with health tips and advice on maintaining a balanced diet.

Beneficiaries thanked the Chief Minister for increasing the honorarium of physical education and health instructors from Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 16,000.

Kumar then inspected the progress of a 10-megawatt floating solar plant being developed at the Phulwaria reservoir in Rajauli, which is being built under the “power above, fish below” model. Officials told him the reservoir spans 30 acres.
