Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary retains 29 portfolios, awaits cabinet expansion

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has retained 29 portfolios after the formation of the new government, while the remaining portfolios will be allocated after the cabinet expansion.

According to a notification issued by Governor Syed Ata Hasnain, the Chief Minister holds key portfolios such as Home, Health, Agriculture, Road Construction, and Urban Development.

Responsibility of Key Departments

In addition to these, the Chief Minister also holds the portfolios of General Administration, Cabinet Secretariat, Vigilance, Elections, Revenue, Mining, Law, Industry, Tourism, Disaster Management, IT, Sports, Environment, and several welfare departments.

The Chief Minister will also assume responsibility for the portfolios that have not yet been allocated to anyone.

Key Responsibilities for Deputy CM

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has been given 10 departments, including Education, Rural Development, Transport, and Water Resources.

Second Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav has been assigned eight departments, including Finance, Energy, Social Welfare, and Food and Consumer Protection.

Distribution to be made after the cabinet expansion

The remaining ministries will be allocated after the cabinet expansion.

Earlier, Samrat Chaudhary took oath as Chief Minister at Lok Bhavan, along with the two Deputy Chief Ministers.

Centralized Control in Interim Arrangement

This initial division reflects a centralized system, where the Chief Minister will hold most of the departments until the cabinet expansion.

The final division of departments in the coming days will determine the functioning of the government.
